Our processes ensure the beauty of the wood is preserved without losing color and contrast and providing the finest material you can buy. Lighter sections as shown in the photos are natural characteristics of Walnut called "Sap", this can be lighter or darker depending on the wood. Each piece is unique and varies from piece to piece. All of our benches are handcrafted in the heart of the Ozarks with superior quality materials.
Knotholes, voids, and cracks on the surface are filled to bring out the natural beauty of the piece.
Live Edge Benches and Straight Edge Benches
We offer pieces in both live edge and straight edge. You may be asking, “what’s the difference?” Live edge furniture consists of the sides having the contour of the living tree. These pieces don’t have straight/edges. Straight edge slabs do not have the contours of the tree, they have completely smooth, flat sides. Live edge is a popular choice because it shows off the natural beauty of the wood. Note: Due to being a handmade product there can be a 1/2” variation in size Length/Depth. On Live Edge products there can be a 1-2” variation on the depth from posted size due to the natural variation of the Live Edge.

Our Live Edge Black Walnut Bench and Handmade Solid Black Walnut Bench you can choose your desired length and leg style. We offer two leg styles, hairpin, and u-shaped. If you would like a more rustic modern look then hairpin legs are the best choice. If you want a more modern industrial look then u-shaped legs are the way to go. Legs are detached for shipping, they will need to be reassembled by the customer upon arrival. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver, holes for the legs are pre-drilled to make assembly a breeze. Our Live Edge Black Walnut Bench has a height of 18” and a depth of 14”-18” depending on the character of the slab. Our Handmade Solid Black Walnut Bench has a height of 18” and a depth of 12”-16” depending on the character of the wood. The last bench we have in our collection is the 5ft Live Edge Black Walnut Bench. This piece has a height of 18.5”, a length of 5’, and a depth of 16”. The depth will vary slightly depending on the character of the slab. Every piece is unique and will vary slightly in character.

Shipping Time Frames
At Artisan Born, we take pride in creating handmade, made-to-order pieces that are as unique as the spaces they’ll grace. We value your time and appreciate that you’ve chosen our team to craft a product designed to last a lifetime. Normal lead times are 3-6 weeks production time frame. Production time frames are listed on each product page, just below the "Add to Cart" button. Please note that during major holidays, there may be delays in production and shipping schedules. We strive to minimize these delays and ensure every order is completed with the attention that it deserves. For oversized or heavy items shipped via FedEx Freight with a 4-8 Weeks production time frame and does not provide inside delivery and are curbside, driveway, sidewalk, loading dock or receiving facility only.
Mulit-Piece orders require additional production time and typically ship within 4-8 Weeks from payment clearing and pending any major holidays. Orders shipping via Freight Carrier may require additional transit time depending on destination and carrier scheduling. With being a handmade product there can be a possibility of a delay outside of the production time frame, as we strive not to have this happen. We will notify you by email if such delay occurs with the issue and the time frame needed to assure the product is the quality that you expect from Artisanborn.
