Every shelf at Artisan Born is built from premium solid hardwood — walnut, white oak, and select domestic hardwoods — crafted by hand in our Missouri workshop and finished to last a lifetime. No MDF. No veneers. No shortcuts. Whether you're mounting a single floating shelf above a desk or filling a wall with a full bookshelf, you'll feel the difference that real wood makes — the weight, the grain, the warmth that only gets better with age.

Common Shelf Sizes

Our shelves are available in a range of sizes to fit your space. Common configurations include:

• Floating Shelves: Typically 24", 36", 48", and 60" in length — depths from 8" to 12" — ideal for walls, kitchens, and reading nooks
• Bookshelves: Widths from 24" to 60", heights from 36" to 72", with adjustable or fixed shelf spacing

Wood Species & Feel

• Black Walnut — Rich, dark chocolate tones with a fine, straight grain. Warm and sophisticated. Ages beautifully.
• White Oak — Light to medium brown with a pronounced ray-fleck grain. Versatile, durable, and timeless.
• Live Edge — Natural slab edges preserved as-is. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. Organic and striking.

Finish Options

• Satin Clear Finish — Durable, low-sheen protection. Great for high-use shelves.
• Rubio Monocoat — A penetrating oil finish available in Natural, White, Cotton White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, and Modern Black. Enhances the wood's natural character without a plastic look.
