Where Every Meal Becomes a Memory

A dining table isn't just a surface — it's where your household actually happens. Homework gets done here. Holidays get celebrated here. Coffee goes cold here because the conversation was too good to stop. The right table makes all of that feel a little more intentional, a little more permanent.

At Artisan Born, every dining table is built from 100% solid hardwood — no veneer cores, no MDF substrates, no engineered shortcuts. What you're getting is real wood, milled and finished by hand, built to order in the USA, and designed to outlast the trends that come and go around it.

Find the Right Table for Your Space

We offer dining tables across a range of styles, sizes, and wood species — each one distinct in character but consistent in quality. Whether you're drawn to the clean geometry of a U-shape base, the warmth of a round top, or the drama of a live edge slab, you'll find a table here that fits the way you actually live.

Common Dining Table Sizes & How Many They Seat

Not sure what size you need? Here's a practical guide based on standard dining room layouts:

      • 48" (4 ft) — Seats 4. Great for breakfast nooks, apartments, or smaller dining rooms.
      • 60" (5 ft) — Seats 4–6. The most popular size for everyday family dining.
      • 72" (6 ft) — Seats 6–8. A versatile length that works in most dining rooms.
      • 84" (7 ft) — Seats 8. Ideal for larger families or those who love to entertain.
      • 96"–120" (8–10 ft) — Seats 8–12+. Statement-making tables for open-plan spaces and serious dinner parties.

A good rule of thumb: allow 24" of table width per person and at least 36" of clearance between the table edge and the wall for comfortable movement.

      Choose Your Wood

The species you choose shapes everything — the color, the grain pattern, the weight of the piece, and how it ages over time. We work primarily with domestic hardwoods known for their durability and beauty.

      • Walnut — Rich, chocolate-brown tones with a straight, open grain that deepens and warms with age. Walnut has a naturally smooth, slightly oily feel that takes a finish beautifully. A premium choice for spaces that lean warm and sophisticated.
      • White Oak — Cool, neutral tones ranging from pale straw to warm tan, with a distinctive ray-fleck grain that catches light in a way no other species does. White Oak is dense and hard underfoot, with a tight, tactile surface that feels substantial and refined. One of the hardest and most moisture-resistant domestic species — an excellent choice for busy households.

      Finish Options

Your finish choice affects both the look and the long-term durability of your table.

      • Satin Clear Finish— A durable, low-sheen topcoat that sits on the surface of the wood, providing excellent protection against spills, heat, and daily wear. Available on both Walnut and White Oak. The surface feels smooth and consistent, with a subtle sheen that lets the grain show through without looking plastic.
      • Rubio Monocoat — A penetrating oil finish that bonds with the wood fibers rather than sitting on top. The result is a matte, natural feel — the wood feels like wood, not like it's been coated. Available in Natural, White, Cotton White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, and Modern Black. Rubio Monocoat is repairable in place, making it a great choice for tables that will see real use over time.

Built to Order — Not Mass Produced

Every table in this collection is made when you order it, not pulled from a warehouse shelf. That means you get to choose your size, your wood, and your finish — and the table that arrives is built specifically for you. Production times vary by style and size; larger tables and freight shipments typically run 3–6 weeks.

      What Sets Artisan Born Apart

      • 100% solid hardwood — no veneer, no MDF, no plywood. Ever.
      • Natural knots, voids, and character marks hand-filled during production
      • Multiple wood species, leg styles, and finish options per table
      • Built to order in the USA
      • Custom sizing available on most styles
      • Freight delivery available for larger tables

      Custom Sizing Available

Standard dimensions don't always fit real rooms — and we get that. If you need a table that's longer, shorter, narrower, wider, or a different height than what's listed, we can build it. Custom sizing is available across most styles and all wood species and finish options.

Contact us before placing your order and we'll work through your exact dimensions, confirm feasibility, and make sure everything is right before production begins. No guesswork, no surprises. Call us at 1-800-674-0616 with any questions.
