We build with White Oak because it earns its keep. Dense, stable, and tight-grained, it takes a finish beautifully while holding up well to daily use. It doesn’t need to be babied. It just needs to be used.

Every stool is milled and finished by hand in our Jane, Missouri workshop. No shortcuts, no overseas production. Just wood, oil, and craft.

Rubio Monocoat Dark Grey

Dark Grey is deeper and richer than Light Grey without crossing into black territory. It pulls out the natural contrast in White Oak’s grain — the medullary rays, the subtle figure, the movement that makes every board different — and gives the whole piece a moody, textured quality that photographs beautifully and looks even better in person.
