The Natural finish is the most honest version of White Oak we offer. No color added, no heavy tone shift — just the wood, sealed and protected while still looking like itself. What you see is what the tree grew.

The Wood, Uninterrupted

White Oak in its natural state has a warmth that’s hard to manufacture. The heartwood runs golden, the sapwood a touch lighter, and the medullary rays catch the light in a way that makes every board look slightly different from the next. That variation isn’t a flaw — it’s the point.

We mill, shape, sand, and finish every stool by hand in Jane, Missouri. The Natural colorway is the one that shows that work most clearly.

No pigment. No tint. Just a penetrating oil finish that bonds with the wood to help protect it from everyday use while preserving its natural look and feel.

The surface stays matte and natural to the touch. It won’t create the plastic-looking build-up of many surface finishes, and it won’t amber light other finishes. When the finish needs refreshing down the road, spot repairs are simple — no stripping, no full refinish.
